California starter Gary Ross (2-0, 0.50 ERA) holds the A's offense to just a single and strikes out five as he shuts out Oakland 5-0. Leadoff hitter Jerry Remy (.410, 1 HR, 5 RBI) collects four hits and scores three runs for the Angels.

Our starter Aurelio Roman (2.66 ERA) left the game after giving up two runs in 7 1/3 innings with a runner on second and me thinking our awesome bullpen can pull this out. Wrong. Brian Little (1 BS) lets in that tying run and our "awesome" closer Guaspar Hell (0-1, 11.57 ERA) manages just one out in allowing three runs in the top of the 10th. Nice work closer. Tankersley (.273, 5 RBI) and Julian Urmston (.333) each have three hits for Virginia Beach. Good luck getting to the bigs with a name like Julian, Julian.
